Time to sneak a nature post in before work...

Yesterday was a short work day (5:00PM to 11:00PM) so I had some time earlier in the day to sneak out for a walk (should have been doing school work, but walks are important... Fascinating pictures and explanations - as usual! Thanks for the virtual walk. It's interesting to see so many plants that are wild for you and precious garden plants for us!(Goldenrod is an example.)

Research - mostly done with young learners and classrooms in mind but good for extrapolation to all sorts of situations - shows that taking time out to relax increases efficiency. Your subconscious will probably be buzzing away processing your classwork while your conscious mind is admiring fungi and ospreys. The time out needs to be soothing and obviously has to be limited or you won't get anything done, but I agree with Counsellor Guy that walks are important - and of course that's good news for the rest of us who join you!

My subconscious is always working away, but I'm not sure it's always working on what it SHOULD be working on...
