Enjoyed my day off today... I have no idea what randomness caused me to have a Sunday off, because I ALWAYS work Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Monday, but I did. The buckeye reminds me of when I was a little girl, one of the places we lived, the kids said that buckeys were good luck and tried to collect the best ones. Wherever it was, there weren't many of them, and I remember feeling a jealous rage because the neighborhood kids always seemed to bully me out of mine, so I never had any.

To this day, whenever I happen across one that's in really good shape, I'll keep it in my pocket for awhile.

That's exactly what they are! They like damp soil but it doesn't have to be close to water. Cool find!

Maybe my Mom transplanted them from somewhere. That is her little random garden out from. Something that survived that the dog hasn't stomped on.
