Not much happening this early in the year, but I still need to get out, if I can... not to see what's already there, but to look at where things WILL be... to watch eagerly for those familiar things to start appearing. I know where they will be now, like trains that always arrive at the same station at a certain time. I wait for the trout lilies

After those years, it is like returning to the very familiar grounds: your lovely lake, very serene-looking now, and a real display of the flora and fauna that I know now - only thanks to you. It is like meeting old friends, isn´t it?
I was looking at that skunk cabbage and suddenly I realised that it might have something in common with Arum? What so you think? I can remember when one of my LJ friends posted a photo from the Kew...
Anyway. The beavers can be quite dangerous if they are numerous...wow, they use their big teeth like professional lumberbeavers. Poor trees.
I have always admired horsetails though we have a different kind here. At least it seems to me. I will take a picture for you - our spring has only begun today with higher temperature and some sun.
Well, I would dare to guess that these catkins belong to hazel!:-)
