I've been walking around these woods for so long that I have a decent idea where to look for them, fortunately.

I love fungi - the colours are so amazing and I'm intrigued by the fact that they are an entirely separate 'kingdom' all on their own. Maybe they're aliens?? Anyway, gorgeous photos and I'm glad you got out into your woods for once.

Bubba is beautiful.

That pizza looks good.

They are very alien to us, not behaving like the plants or animals we consider to be proper. Of course, we've known mold on stored food and materials since humans began storing things, so we have a long history.

Agreed about the cutest mushrooms. XD Deadly white beauty looks oh-so-elegant. But I'm most intrigued about the violet ones - interesting hue and the way they cover the branch around. I couldn't help touching it - looks very smooth and soft.

The violet polypore looks soft... and I did have to touch it and rub my fingers on it. It's not as soft as it looks. It feels like a rough sort of sponge with tiny holes. All the surfaces are covered with little pores that release spores.

Wow! This is a feast for mushrooms - lovers! Wonderful photos of wonderful, colourful ones. Such a variety! We don´t have such suitable conditions, definitely not so many dead trees - simply the owners cut them down as firewood, at least near our village. Mushrooms are so amazing! Ah, the puffballs, they look so cute, yes! and even the deadly mushroom is very beautiful - like a Snow Queen.
And Bubba! You know, he has such a dog-like expression here, he reminds me of Rocky very much!LOL
Yum, yummy yum...YUM.

It has been a cool, wet autumn with some nice rain and lots of sunshine, and the mushrooms seem to love it! We cut some of the fallen trees up for firewood, but there are always more than we can use, and Honey likes some kinds of wood better than others for burning.

I think Bubba would like to be a dog, because then he could eat more food and we would not laugh at him when he carried things in his mouth.
