NATURE POST!

I got to go to my lake today!

Finally got a few hours that didn't belong to chores or schoolwork or doing things for other people... it was a lovely, cool, overcast day. I wasn't sure if there would be mushrooms out this late in the year and with the heavy frosts we've been having at night, but I found some, and some other cool things too!

Kewwl! Weird little things like mushrooms (and lichens. I quite like lichens) are so interesting, and often beautiful.

Watched an animated movie a while back, called "Epic" which takes place in a forest. The forces of growth are the good guys, and the forces of decay are evil. I thought that was so dumb, because a forest cannot have one without the other. Pffftt.

I'm glad you got to go out and say hello to your lake!

No growth without decay... if there weren't fungi to take apart organic molecules and make them usable again, forests would be drowning in dead stuff and starving for nutrients.

I love your nature posts, they are very soothing and make me happy that nature is tootling along without being entirely suppressed by human works.
