I submitted the resume, cover letter, and application. I have nothing to lose. I have a pretty decent gig with a lot of training that I will forever be grateful for. It's been life-changing and I am never in my comfort zone. But there lies our problem, folks. Maybe just once in a while I'd like to get comfortable and rest. They do this fun thing ( Read more... )

All the luck to you! I started a new job last month and I'm so much happier. (I went from comfortable but bored and underpaid to challenged and interested.)

Good for you! Congratulations. I think we get stuck in a rut for such a variety of reasons it's not always easy to make that change. I lost a friend this year and another just had a massive stroke. Someone I worked with who retired in September had a massive heart attack the very same day! I've had a lot to think about this year, and it's time for some more changes.

I got kicked into stepping up the job applications when I got a new boss I just didn't get on with. Thank you, difficult boss!

Thank you! My odds aren't great, maybe not even good. But it was a big deal personally to just make the attempt. They want a degree I am trying to earn. So we'll see.

Good for you going for it! I'm rooting for you. I know all too well that feeling of never getting to the point of rest, and it's just not healthy.

Thank you! It means a lot.
I don't know if I like my odds, but it also gave me the kick I needed to get up and go on school again. I am trying to test out how it will work. Because my health has absolutely GOT to be a priority now. I can't believe all these friends who are my age or slightly younger that I have been losing, but crazier still - even my daughter's friends! What happened to Americans?
