soooooo because i honestly haven't written anything concrete/good/usable/proper fic (i have written yesung meta though, and a HUGEASS yesung primer :D) in the last two months, i have decided to do a writing exercise. taken from
domolovesyou :3
One: Write ten lines of dialogue between two characters who had drunken sex last night and are not talking about it. Ever.
"Hyung."
(Sungmin thinks he hears something, but, man, the covers are too warm and fluffy. He doesn't want to move.)
"Hyung."
(More talking. Why can't Ryeowook stop bugging him in the morning? He's been waking up early for all this while, you'd think he'd at least get a break sometime.)
"HYUNG. Get off."
(Sungmin feels something throw his leg to the left..... wait. What?)
"Um." Kyuhyun looks at Sungmin, whose face is inches away.
(He's got a hangover, god, it hurts so bad. Sungmin mentally kicks himself for that fourth - no, wait, thirtieth? Glass of wine yesterday.)
"Um."
They stare at each other as the memories of the events the night before come flooding back.
"Yesterday -"
"Last night-"
(Sungmin stares at Kyuhyun. He distinctly feels how naked he is under the covers - and how similarly unclothed Kyuhyun is. Shit, Leeteuk's going to kill him.)
"We - nothing - happened - okay?"
"....okay."
(Sungmin tries not to remember how fucking good Kyuhyun felt yesterday.)
"....ah, fuck this," Sungmin mutters, and rolls over back on top of Kyuhyun.
Two: Write a scene in four sentences in which two characters bond over something that would seem trivial to a passerby.
Sungmin and Kyuhyun pass Minho and Taemin backstage of Music Bank, who are holding Yoogeun in their arms - Sungmin immediately rushes up to make funny faces and eventually Yoogeun allows himself to be carried by Sungmin. Kyuhyun is much less enthusiastic, and a look of such dire alarm flits across his face when Sungmin holds Yoogeun out for Kyuhyun to carry, that Sungmin is practically in hysteria. Minho hurriedly takes Yoogeun back into his arms.
Kyuhyun glares at Sungmin, who is still bent over with laughter.
this is a very obscure reference to that show where Sungmin was amazing but Kyuhyun was a flaily idiot with kids. i am such a sad writer.
Three: Write seven sentences from the perspective of a passerby witnessing Day Two's scene.
Amber is strolling around backstage and getting accosted by people she knows every five seconds, when she sees Minho, Taemin, Kyuhyun and Sungmin. And Yoogeun. Sungmin is obviously a pro with kids (of course, she thought), making Yoogeun laugh so he deigns to be carried by Sungmin, while Kyuhyun is obviously not so good. He is very alarmed when Sungmin hands Yoogeun to him, and when Kyuhyun is alarmed he looks pretty comical, so Amber's not surprised that Sungmin breaks out into laughter.
"Oppa," she calls as she walks over, Kyuhyun putting on his best scowl.
"Amber," she hears before she reaches the group, and she turns to find Henry with that full-cheeked smile on his face. Amber grins.
Four: Write a character's reaction to someone's love confession in one sentence.
"Took you long enough, oppa," Sunny grinned as she hooked her hand round Sungmin's neck and declined the call from Joongki-oppa.
Five: Write a scene in eight sentences in which someone's going through his/her version of "It's a Wonderful Life."
"I bought all these for you, our pretty Jihyo!" Gary yells.
"Long live Queen Jihyo!" Donghoon almost cracks his voice.
She gets Jongkook to buy her coffee, Jaesuk to stick his feet in the cold water and Sukjin to jump up and down. She gets Gwangsoo to do all sorts of stunts, and she gets to see Joongki's face when the boat turns away from the dock. Jihyo smiles and the corners of her lips turn up, basking in the sunlight. Life is pretty damn good.
i haven't watched whatever "It's a Wonderful Life" is orz
Six: Write a scene in six sentences in which a character is searching for someone in the last moments of the end of the world.
Jihyo runs. "Oppa! Donghoon," she ducks underneath obstacles - boulders, beams, debris - but she doesn't see him. "Oppa," she calls, tired now, till Donghoon flings his hand in the air in between cardboard pieces and yells, his voice hoarse, "HERE!"
"BOOM!" Jihyo yells, "alright, oppa, thanks, I'm leaving."
"What?"
"I act out a movie scene with you in exchange for my survival, right? The world ended, your scene is over," Jihyo calls over her shoulder, half-laughing as she runs away.
not six sentences, but whatever
Seven: Write a breakup scene in three sentences without giving the reason for it or using dialogue.
Kyuhyun packs his bags, throws everything haphazardly into his meagre one luggage - he's leaving behind everything in his old life he's ready to abandon, which is most of his things.
Ryeowook's bottom lip is trembling as he watches Kyuhyun, but Kyuhyun knows Ryeowook knows it'd end someday - he has to.
Kyuhyun does not look back when he leaves.
Eight: Write two characters' second kiss in two sentences.
Ryeowook thinks kisses when he's lucid are a million times better than when he's drunk, because the last time he couldn't remember what Sungmin's lips felt like. This time he feels it all, he feels Sungmin's neck moulding into his palm, Sungmin's nose tickling his, and, from the looks of it down south, that Sungmin's obviously happy to be kissing him.
Nine: Ask flist for prompts. Write one sentence each for the first five prompts you receive.
none of this sentence shit, omg so restrictive ://// give me a prompt and i'll write you a little drabble-ish thing :3 non-flist people please prompt me if you want to as well! i really need to get into writing again :(
Ten: Use these lyrics as a prompt: "There's only now/There's only here/Give in to love/Or live in fear" ("Another Day" from RENT) and write a story in nine sentences.
Donghae doesn't know what to do. He sees his mother look at Hyukjae fondly, and the words are almost out of his mouth, but then flashes of what might happen run through his head. His mother's tears. Unacceptance. Her potential disappointment in never being able to have a grandson culminates as a breaking point in Donghae's head, and then the words crumble away. He glances at Hyukjae, who is staring at him, waiting, but he can't. He tries to tell Hyukjae this, a dire plea in his eyes, I can't tell her. Hyukjae just blinks and turns back to his rice, and Donghae feels a lump form in his throat. He thinks guilt and cowardice mix to taste like the metallic tang of blood.
orz orz WRITING IS SO HARD PLEASE KILL ME. also idk why i wrote running man fic. i never write fic for fandoms i'm not utterly invested in (i.e. any fandom other than suju), idk what happened.
