Spring already?

Still alive, despite what the silence might imply. I'm just not sure how it got to be April already! I guess that's what happens when things get busy. I'm not sure I can even remember all that's happened for a proper update, but there were a few notable things:

- Trip to California in February, complete with two conventions, including lots of fannish fun at Escapade!

- Got home with a really bad cold that still hasn't really gone away. Finally went and got antibiotics for a sinus infection - finished them up on Monday but I'm still not really well. I'm considering alternative medicine because this being sick stuff is not fun!

- Bought a car! Sometime in January the old car finally had one too many things go wrong with it and I gave in to the need for something more reliable. And then I gave in to the desire for a nicer car, so I got a used 2006 Acura with many bells and whistles. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and really, my only complaint is that it's hard to find in a parking lot. Somehow I think I'll get used to that...

- Finished a big work deadline on Monday. I was behind, as usual - part of which I blame on being sick. That's a good excuse, right?

And of course, the biggest thing. Right now, as I type, there are strangers in my house, taking boxes and boxes full of swtalmnd's belongings and putting them on a truck headed for California. The plane comes to take her and her cat away very, very early next Tuesday morning so we have a few days of socialization left, and then I'll be on my own again. It's going to be very empty here, but somehow I think I'll manage to fill things back up. ^_^

Fannishly, I'm still watching way too much television. Wow, some of the new stuff is bad, isn't it? We've been watching both Raines and Blood Ties but... I don't know. I'm looking forward to new Stargate(s) though!

I have to say I'm really amused at the way Supernatural seems to have taken over my flist all of a sudden. I guess since I've been watching it from day one I can't quite relate to the new rush of enthusiasm. Not that I mind, of course! More fans are almost always a good thing.

I'm looking forward to HP fun this summer with the new releases in July and a trip to Toronto in August for Prophecy. Or at least to hang out with the other people going to Prophecy. After a lackluster experience at Lumos last year I'm having trouble convincing myself I want to pay $150 or more for the official events.

I'm sure there's more I could go on about, but the movers are gone and we're off to find some breakfast.

Happy Spring to all!
