 I've really been in a "Jawgrinder" kind of mode lately. I've become obsessed with the so-called "Iron Age" of comic books, particularly its most notorious artist (and I guess you could call him a writer as well). I've picked up two superhero book collections recently: X-Force Cable: The Legend Returns and X-Force Shatterstar.

For my money, the finest (in that bad but hilarious way) piece of art Liefeld has ever done is the apparently 70-foot tall Scarlet Witch in the first issue of his Avengers relaunch.

I think my next step is tracking down some of the more "legitimate" projects he was allowed to work on (my first thought was Captain America, but the Avengers could be good too). The problem I might have is that it's one thing when his artwork is happening to a book like The New Mutants or X-Force (pretty much red-headed stepchildren to begin with), but it might feel completely different when it's featured in a more "legitimate" title.
