Someone please add this to the archive of stupid:

My roommate and I smoke. We live in a building that is classified as a "Smoking Dormitory." Please note that is not to be confused with a "Non-Smoking Dormitory" also known as a "Smoke-Free Dormitory." I can understand that some non-smoking students would be placed in smoking buildings due to housing limitations. However, I can not understand why some smoking students would be placed in non-smoking buildings. This is beside the point though. The part of this story that is filled with all kinds of stupid is this: non-smoking students in a smoking building do the following:
1. Have the Resident Director and Resident Assisstants set rules that there is to be no smoking in common areas, and to go so far as to even write up "reports" on smoking students who smoke with the door open (God forbid! What a horrible sin!).
2. Complain to smoking students that their room smells like smoke (eh, where's the logic in that one? A room where people smoke that smells like smoke! Oh my, what an amazing phenomenon)
3. Complain that the smoke goes out the window and comes into other rooms via their windows. (but wait, the door must be shut... and if our window is closed too, and with our computers on 24/7 this builds up heat in a room and it turns into a veritable sauna--my room temp is 82 degrees... the thermostat is set at 60)
4. Complain that the smoke leaks under the room and makes the rest of the floor smell like smoke. (but wait, with the window closed, the smoke wants to dissipate, so where else will it go? oh look, the door doesn't have an air-tight seal... note that this is good, or we might suffocate in our sleep, since the window is closed)

I think the biggest slice of stupid is this: a student who is allergic to cigarette smoke was assigned a room in this smoking dorm. Does anyone else see the problem here? You know, there is a point in time before school begins when one receives his or her dorm assignment and it does note on the assignment that the dormitory is either a smoking or a non-smoking dorm. There is also a span of time in which a student should be able to take notice of this, and--should he or she have a problem with the dorm assignment they were given--request a change in their dorm assignment. I am sure that if a student who has an allergy to cigarette smoke and was assigned a room in a smoking dorm were to request a change in housing, that those that make the housing decisions (this would be my advisor, Joel Kraft) would take this into special consideration and take proper measures to have this problem remedied.

However this is only the humble opinion of a smoking student in a smoking dorm. It matters not. Have a good day.

I think I shall post this in numerous visible places around the dorm.

ps. these are two good songs... very cool. I know you all think I preach anti-rap, but I only preach anti-crap-rap. I happen to like it if it's quality/good or unique. This is both very unique and also pretty good.
