The Hub and I took advantage of the break in the rain to head out for lunch and take a quick trip to the library. It's been hard to feel like reading lately, but I wanted to load up just in case. ILU. Who'd you get?

My condolences on your Uncle. Sounds like he was an awesome person.

Cocoa is always in order. Ooh, thank you for the lj present! I never got a notification, and rarely go to my profile page, so I just saw it. Mmm, I wish I had a big soft gingerbread cookie now. With cocoa.

Campy, about Roy Campanella. He's one of those characters I'd heard about my whole life, but didn't know much about beyond his sports career. I'm going to re-read Clemente. He was my childhood hero. I kept his card under my desk blotter, to look at after I finished my homework.

Uncle Bud was very cool. He developed a lot of real estate in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, made a lot of money, and enjoyed his friends and family immensely. Everyone knew him, so it was fascinating to go to his funeral today, and to the house afterwards. Lots of laughter and talking, sharing stories. I met a woman who lived next to him for close to 30 years, in another part of town. There were lots of tales like that.

:) Hee! Cocoa helped immensely. I'm having a beer this evening, though. Gingerbread sounds delightful, but I don't have fixins for it at the moment. Darn it.
