I have a question, when did floppies go the way of the Dodo? I missed there faze out and was shocked when I went looking since my laptop was stolen and noticed they were missing ( Read more... )

Also known as jump or flash drives. You can also get the MP3 player format and then you can transport your tunes and files in the same device. As far as it goes, as long as the computer has a parallel port, you should be able to connect your floppy drive to the computer. This should at least be useful for transfering the files onto your new medium. I recently purchased

. It's cheap and useful enough for most purposes.

Thanks to both of you.

I have a flash (I bought it for my In Design and Photoshop classes) and it is Mac and PC compatible. My main concern is transferring from the floppies to another storage device, because I can afford to loose most of the things on the floppies, but other stuff (like my thesis!) I would like to maintain a file of.
