We'd like to remind you that Pokemon is an appable fandom, and we have had Pokemon Characters in game before, so please remain respectful of the 4th Wall Guidelines, and keep mention of appable fandom fictional sources minimized in play.

Unless specific permissions are given, we'd prefer to use made-up game titles, so that characters are not forced to become aware of themselves as fictional entities unless the players choose to.

I had read the guidelines before writing the post and because of the wording of the rule I must have misunderstood it. It's a bit unclear as to what precisely is allowed and I apologize for misinterpreting it.

Because I already have responses to the post, what do you suggest as my best course of action? Again, I'm sorry, and because we have no Pokemon characters in game I didn't think I needed permission.

Next time something like this comes up I would be more than open to you PMing me directly.

This is a policy that is frequently misinterpreted, and we as a mod team will be looking for ways to better clarify it for the future. For now, here is a loose breakdown our general stance:

Minimizing references to appable fandoms is a courtesy that is extended through the 4th wall rule so that characters who wouldn't have a reason to know a character is fictional won't run into potential 4th walling problems in the future.

It's alright to go ahead with the post now that it's up and you have responses. But for the future, please keep in mind that things like appable games, movies, and other fictional references should be avoided, particularly in open posts where they have wider impact. Reasoning behind this is that the less characters are aware that a particular canon source exists, the less 4th walling permissions need to be exchanged down the road.

I appreciate you clarifying this for me and I will be mindful of it in the future. Thank you!
