[Spike sits perched on the edge of the couch, misery clearly etched into his every feature. No matter what he does, nothing will change; he's still just a muck-up. Not only was Buffy not supposed to find out this way, she was never supposed to hear it from him. [Look, Sylar wasn't eating cheese doodles. He was wallowing in the depths of his despair. He'd been doing that a lot lately. Every time he thought about taking the steps necessary to change his life, something happened to make him call it quits and go back to stewing in self-pity. At least Spike was back now. That was one less thing wrong in his life.

Wordlessly, he trudged down the stairs and took a seat on the couch next to Spike. He wasn't sure what to say, either regarding himself or the other man. There were lots of emotions clouding up the air. ]

Hi.

[He doesn't look up, his voice tired and obviously tinged with hurt. None of it's directed at Sylar though so he just waits, not wanting to think of something to break the quickly spreading silence.]
