Sylvia slowly becomes part of the administration for Canadian history... :P

Yeah... apparently, my professors for this course have stopped caring about updating notes, because they now have me to tell them when something is missing. *snickers*

They should just accept me into grad studies now. o.o

*grin* I think you'd make a pretty good lecturer yourself, actually-if you wanted.

Aww... geh. I WANT to be a professor... but I'm 70% sure that's not going to happen. One of the reasons is because I would NOT make a good lecturer. Actually, I think that can be curbed with passion for the job, but only to a certain extent. Charisma + Sylvia = nada.

Uh... once again, I owe you a self-slap-with-a-herring; the story of my absence involves hamburgers, and many an other issue which is likely better expressed in an e-mail than here. ~_~

I'm just... not in the best state right now... kind of need to remove myself for a while. :/

I just wanted to pop by and give my 2 cents. I am attending a small town uni in order to get into graduate studies. I don't know what it is truly like at UofT, but one of the reasons why I made the decision to go to a smaller school was the fact that it is easier to get to know my profs. I am wrapping up my 2nd year and I already have one letter of recomendation.
I know this might come across as snooty, but don't take it that way. What I am trying to say is that it might be best for you to go to a smaller school to get the recomendation letters then go back to UofT for graduate studies. When judging credentals, it matters more where you went for your grad-studies then your undergraduate degree.

Anyways, that is my 2 cents. Good luck. Nice to see another History Major. :)

Shmancy having you on my journal. *tips hat*

Yes, U of T is not very hospitable in that sense... but it isn't completely impossible. I have gotten to know a few professors through smaller classes. Funny, though -- I haven't obtained any reference letters as of yet. I always assumed I'd do that during my last year, but maybe it would be a wise idea for me to start. Eheh.

To be frank, I don't know if I'm good enough for grad studies (GO GO INSECURITIES!), and I've been battling whether to go or not. If I do, chances are it'll be for early Canadian history... but we'll see... : )

I've attended some 'grad studies information' sessions, and the general consensus at U of T is that if you've done well in a course you want to get a reference letter from a professor in, sending them some of your work and notifying them of your interests will generally enable them to write you a decent letter -- and generally they'll be more than willing to help you out.

*sigh* But yes... I will need all the luck I can get! Thank you kindly. : )
