Started off on a bad foot. Had a case of the sniffles Friday that turned into waking hell by Saturday morning. Standard allergy attack for me, but it's flu season so it's better safe than sorry...I canceled my guitar lesson around 10 am then I canceled the rest of the day. I've found that pretty much anything can serve as a form of mindfulness meditation so I tend to slip into that mode anytime I've got a repetitive task. If I'm just being in the moment, otherwise aggravating chores like ironing and dishes take on a new, pleasing dimension...awareness of textures and smells comes to the fore. With cooking, I find the heightened awareness of the aroma and the changes taking place are much more enjoyable. As an added bonus, I tend to get reinforcing insights into life, like the importance of appreciating the things we have and the value of time and effort.
Meditation plus just about anything makes for a completely changed perspective on the anything involved, imho :)
