RUE!!!!!!!! ::hugstightly:: We've missed you--in fact around Valentine's Day when I did the whole "Roy Ed Wedding" we were talking about how much we love your work (the picture in my icon was the topic of much sentimental sighing) and how we were wondering if you were all right. Spinal SURGERY??? Good grief! How awful--are you better now? I knew you had graduation coming up and that might be why we didn't see you online. Know that your LJ friends did not forget you and are so glad to know you're still with us!
Awww well I'm super glad you guys remembered me! And I'm sorry I fell off the face of LS so suddenly.
Basically a disk in my spine suddenly popped out of place and ended up pressing against my spinal chord. I was in agony for a good month before I had the surgery, and in the end I lost all feeling from the waist down due to the damage my spinal chord was under. They fixed it up well though it seems! Recovery is just slow because I need to relearn how to walk again and regain my strength in my legs.
But I can walk again! I was in a wheelchair and then crutches for a while afterwards, but now I'm up and about. I have a few months left of recovering to do before I can go back into the work force, but for now I'm just glad I can actually walk haha.
If you are truly interested, send me an email! It's my LJ username at gmail.com.
I'd be delighted to try get you a illustration job at one of the powerhouse universities or companies of Cambridge, Ma. Cambridge is literally across the river from Boston, Ma and is 3-4 hours from NYC.
The unis here are likely your best bet because 1- I have more influence :) and 2- they handle all the work visa/relocation stuff for you.
Yeahhh I am getting better, but it's a slow process. I'm still not fit for work and I have physio twice a week - but I've definitely improved over the past few months, so hopefully I'll keep getting better!
RUUUUUUUE!!! :D If you weren't still recovering from surgery, I would so glomp you right now!! ^_^ I could never forget you. Your artwork is too amazingly awesome for that! :D Here's me sending you lots of well wishes for a speedy recovery! Feel better soon! :)
Rueme! Welcome back! I too have been on and off LJ due to my job and outside of work activities. Hope you are on the mend. Looking forward to seeing new art when you feel up to it.
