In memory of family and friends who have lost the battle with cancer and in support of the ones who continue to conquer it! Repost this in your LJ if you know someone who has, had or has been affected by cancer.

This is nice. My mum contracted cervical cancer about ten years ago. Fortunately they caught it on time and were able to remove it - although she was no longer able to have children. I'm obviously still greatful she is here, but it was hard then.

Thank you for sharing that, and that must have been so scary. I'm glad they caught it in time. My grandmother had pancreatic cancer, and it was so long ago and discovered so late that there was nothing to be done. Her sister, my great aunt, and my great aunt's husband have had lung cancer, I think, and the latter passed away around two years ago.

I have a soft side anytime I hear bout leukemia, being how I used to work with someone who passed away in 2008 with it. He's missed by a lot by a lot of people at my job.

But also being how one of my close friends survived it when she was a child. Anytime I hear about leukemia in general...I remember that emotional night when she first told me about it, even though I admitted I already knew. I feel a tear coming every time =/, but I also smile that she's in my life, even if I didn't know her back then.

Everyone seems to have a story of knowing someone. I've seen this post at least five times in the past 24 hours, so it's something everyone can relate to. Thank you for sharing that.
