mission : 2012

In a previous post I mentioned merging a sort of mission101 list with a New Year's resolution. What emerged were several respectable resolutions that are reasonable. I'll update my progress on these resolutions every month and might change each resolution as necessary, but only when I meet a resolution and push it further.

Looks like a great set of goals!

The no books for 6 months thing I do think was really good for me... though I bought 16 books in December with all the gift cards I got for Christmas. I think this year my goal will just be to read more of my own books than I buy new books.

I would say "I can't do that because of book clubs" but then I remember that you did it. Though I don't know; most of my book club books I get through the Kindle unless for some reason I have access to it some other way. We'll see if I can ever do something like that :D But this, plus the BB challenges, really make it more likely I'll appreciate the books I already have.

Well, it depends on your book clubs. The IRL one I was in in Texas was really good about choosing older books, not new releases. And the BBs usually have 3 options at once and usually at least one of them I could find easily at the library. Though there ARE people in that group who almost never do the group reads ... but then I wonder what is the point of being in a book club?

Ahh I see your point. For my IRL book club we tend to choose newer releases, but that's not always the case. And we try to make sure there are audio versions.

Huh. Yeah I don't get why you'd be in a book club if you don't read the books. I understand if like, certain books just don't interest you. Even then, I really kind of enjoyed reading books I wouldn't ordinarily come across.
