Kisu (Kiss)
“Nino…I---“ Rin started to say over the phone.
“Shitteru.(i know) Dita told me about it. I was so relieved when she told me.” Nino interrupted.
“Demo…”
“Daijoubu, I was just so surprised.”
“Hontou ni?(really)”
“Hontou ni. Wakatteru.(i know that) Did you have dinner already?” he said to lighten up the mood.
“Uh, hai. Anata wa?(you?) Are you done shooting for the new video?”
“Just finished eating. Yeah, almost, just needs some editing. You should go to sleep now. You need to rest.”
“You too. You need it the most. You should stop watching anime ‘til late at night. Ja, Oyasumi.(good night)”
“I will. How do you know I was watching?”
“I just know.”
“Oyasumi.(good night) Mata ashita.(see you tomorrow)” He laughed
“Mata ashita.” She felt better already.

“Ja Ninomiya-kun, instead of asking you if you have a girlfriend already, Can you give the girls out there some hints on how to capture your heart?” the host interviewed him on the show.
“Hmm, probably someone who always does her best, saved a couple millions but keeping her distance is the best bet.” Nino replied laughing.
“Sounds like you’re no easy catch. Hear that girls?” the host commented.

“Rin, matte!(wait)” Jin called as she was about to go down the stairs after work. “You going home already?”
“Yeah, so how’s it going with your cute stalker?” Rin asked.
“I don’t know, I think it worked, at least I don’t see her anymore wherever I go.”
“Oh yeah? Think again, here she comes and looking more determined than ever.” Rin was looking behind him.
“Shimatta.(oh no) What does it take to loose her?” Jin sighed turning around transferring beside Rin and putting his arm over her shoulders playing the part just as the girl stopped in front of them.
“Aka-chan, I still don’t believe that you two are really going out. I won’t give up! Besides, I’m way cuter than her.” the girl declared and glared at Rin.
“You… You don’t believe?” Rin asked.
“I told you, I don’t like you. You should find someone else. I’m with Rin now. Why won’t you accept that?” Jin said.
“Ja, if you’re really with her, kiss her then and I mean a real kiss, on the lips.” the girl demanded.
“Eh?” Rin gasped.
“Ii yo.(alright)” Jin replied and kissed Rin. Rin shut her eyes tight. “How’s that? Enough for you?” Jin turned to the girl who was as surprised as Rin.
“You’re such a jerk! Daikirai!”(i hate you) the girl shouted angrily and ran off all teary-eyed.
“I’m sorry for that.” Jin turned to Rin. Rin nodded silently.
“Don’t you think you went too far? She looked really hurt.” Rin said looking at the direction the girl ran to.
“It can’t be helped. She needs to stop. She’ll find someone better.” Jin replied looking at the same direction.
“If you say so.”
“Thanks for playing along. By the way, how was it?” Jin joked looking back at Rin.
“You mean the kiss?” Rin turned to him smiling.
“Still no spark huh?” Jin asked. Rin shook her head.
“I have something to tell you. I’ve been going out with Nino for a while now.” Rin admitted.
“Eh? Why didn’t you tell me? Yabbai. Didn’t we see him that day at the cafe?”
“He knows about it.”
“Really? I have to go apologize to him tomorrow when I see him then.”
“Yeah, but it’s also our fault for keeping it a secret from you.” They were silent for a while, “It’s getting late, you should go home.”
“Right, how about you? I’ll walk you home.”
“No need, I’ll stay here for a while. Daijoubu.”
“You sure?”
“I’m sure. Now go.”
“Ja mata.”
“Ki otsukare.”
“Hai. Anata mo.” Jin said leaving.
Rin sat on the stairs when he was out of sight already.
“Hi.” Nino said sitting beside her.
“Hi.” Rin replied. “How long have you been standing over there?”
Nino didn’t say anything.
“You saw it?” Rin asked. Nino nodded.
“You two have done it before right? When you were still going out?” He asked. Rin nodded.
“And like he said, no spark. I think it’s one of the reasons why we decided to just stay as friends, there’s something off or wrong with us every time.” She added, not being defensive.
“Every time, does she have to say that?” Nino thought then brushed it off.
“That kiss didn’t mean anything. Don’t think too much about it.” Rin said.
“I can’t say that I’m not bothered by it because I really am but I know you’re telling me the truth. Shinjiteru yo.(i believe you)” Nino admitted.
“Arigatou. Ja, I also can’t say that I wasn’t relieved when I heard that the girl in your video, whom you were rumored with, was getting married already.” Rin confessed.
“Good, I thought, it didn’t bother you at all.” He sighed then they both laughed. He continued, “Ja, since we trust each other, I want you to tell me something honestly.”
Rin was not able to reply anymore Nino held her right hand while he placed his other hand behind her neck and pulled her in for their first kiss. Sparks were flying everywhere. Rin closed her eyes and responded to him. “So, did you see any sparks?” he asked after.
“Nope, I saw fireworks.” Rin replied and kissed him again.

“Sempai!” Jin ran towards them the next day. Nino and Rin turned to him. “Oh Rin you’re here too? Ano, sempai, kinou wa, hontou ni sumimasen deshita! I didn’t know about your relationship. Please don’t worry about it anymore. There’s really nothing between us now. We’re really just friends.”
“Wakatta. (i understand) I know that. Rin told me. But I would appreciate it if you won’t do that to her anymore.” Nino replied.
“Hai. Arigatou guzaimasu!” Jin bowed.
“Aka-chan!” someone called. Jin froze.
Rin and Nino were laughing. It was Dita coming in from behind Jin.
“I don’t think you have to worry about that girl following you around, she seems to have found someone new.” Nino said.
“What do you mean?” Jin asked.
“She seems to have shifted her thoughts to Aiba-kun, one of Niji’s members. I wonder what he would do.” Rin finished.
“Maji?(for real?) Sugoku hayai.(so fast) Aiba-sempai, sumanai!(forgive me)" Jin said.
“Good for you ne, Aka-chan.” Dita chimed in.
“Yeah, good timing, I need you to like me.” Jin turned to her.
“Eh? Why in the world would I do that?” Dita retorted.
“There’s this girl I really like but she acts like she doesn’t care about me. I want to make her jealous. Come on.”
“Iyada!(don't want to)” Dita refused walking away. Jin followed her trying to persuade her.
“Oh-oh, there he goes again.” Rin commented watching the two leave. Nino laughed.
“By the way, you didn’t happen to see that interview I had yesterday right?” Nino asked as they walked on.
“No, why? What about it?” she lied.
“Umm, never mind. It’s nothing really.”
“What is it? Tell me!”
“Forget I said anything about it.”
“The more you’re keeping it from me the more I want to find out.”
“I told you, it’s nothing important, just asking that’s all.”
“Fine. See you later then.” Rin said going inside her department office.
“See you.” Nino called after her.
