Koibito (lover)
“Ei, Kazunari-san!(mrs. Kazunari)” Dita called walking across the hall. “Oi, I was calling you.” She patted Rin’s shoulder.
“Me? Oh right, I have a new family name now.” Rin placed her hand on her forehead. “Sorry, still getting used to it.” She laughed feebly. Dita laughed at her.
“So where’s your husband?” Dita asked as they walked inside the café.
“My Husband…” Rin repeated and suddenly started blushing furiously.
“Oi, what’s wrong with you now? You’re usually pale, now you’re the complete opposite! Your face is flushed red.” Dita teased her.
“Nothing. He’s still shooting for their new video.” Rin buried her face in her hands and sat down. Dita laughed again.
“Hidoi yo.” Rin complained.
“Gomen ne. I’m just so happy for you.” Dita said. “Honestly, I never thought I’d see you get married after all that happened to your parents. I was just checking how you are now. Hontou ni Omedatou!”
“Arigatou.” Rin hugged her. “I owe a lot of it to you.”
“Ei, watashi-tachi wa tomodachi deshou?” Dita said.
“Sou, saikou no tomodachi desu. I wish you would find your own happiness too.” Rin replied smiling at her then Dita started getting teary- eyed.
“Oi, Doushita no?” Rin asked, concerned.
“Iya, when you mentioned about my happiness…” Dita sniffed wiping her tears with her hands. “Ano nee, Jin just confessed his feelings for me. Shocking, right?”
“Eh? Hontou? I’m happy for you, no, the both of you.”
“You mean, you knew?”
“Hmm… let’s just say I’ve got a hunch. Nino has also mentioned about how you two get along well. I think you’re suited for each other.”
“Ironic isn’t it? I remembered saying the exact same words to the both of you back in high school when I helped you two get together. It didn’t really bother me all that much at the time. I wondered when these feelings for him began.”
“I guess, that’s just how it is. Before you know it, there’s no helping it anymore. Crazy huh?”
“When he told me, I was happy and worried at the same time. He just debuted and all. Would I become a burden? Or what will his fans think?”
“What’s this? The usual optimistic and sassy Dita is saying this?” Rin teased. “I worried about those things too, when Nino confessed. But when I told him about it, he told me that instead of a burden, I’m his inspiration.” She smiled, “Cheesy, I know but I can’t help being relieved by what he said. If you have some concerns, you should talk it out. That’s the only way he’ll understand how you truly feel. Guys can be really dense sometimes.” Rin winked.
“Thanks.” Dita smiled. “You’re right, it was cheesy.” They both laughed. Their conversation halted as they took their order.
“So, what did you say to him? Did you answer him?”
“Iya, eto…” Dita’s face now flushed red, her eyes on the floor. “I wasn’t able to anymore, he…ano… he kissed me and I didn’t resist either.” She finished hastily, her voice really soft from embarrassment. Rin had to come closer to hear, she immediately back away when she heard about the kiss.
“Eh?! You two already kissed?” Rin exclaimed pretty loud. Dita covered Rin’s mouth to shush her up.
“You don’t have to proclaim it to the world you know!” Dita whispered anxiously looking around.
“Sorry.” Rin giggled.
“I thought I was going to have a heart attack with what you did.”
Their order arrived just in time. Dita gulped some of her drink.
“I was just surprised.”
“What are you so shock about? It’s not like you and Jin haven’t kissed. You know how he is.”
“Maa…(well)You didn’t have to mention that. You were pretty shy about saying it too. Well, you have to hand it to him for being straightforward.”
Dita nodded.
“Doesn’t this sound a lot like an over used love drama though? Friends since high school, one guy, two girls, falls in love, break ups etc.”
“Sou da ne. Don’t you think Jin is being such an insolent friend going out with his two best friends?” Rin joked.
“His being a playboy, just adds to my worries. Remember that stalker and that girl he wanted to be jealous by using me. Well turns out, the latter part was the other way around. He was actually trying to make me feel jealous over the other girl.”
“Hontou? Him and his crazy tactics.” Rin sighed.
“Well, he’s a rather loyal friend anyways.”
“Ah, defending your boyfriend now huh.” Rin teased. “Speaking of which, here he comes. Glad, he’s not suddenly appearing out of nowhere now.” Rin added looking behind Dita.
“Mine’s not the only one who’s coming.” Dita commented seeing the person with Jin.
“Ooh~ calling him yours now huh.” Rin couldn’t help teasing.
“Mou, yamete kudasai! (Stop it already.)”
“Hai, hai(ok).” Rin said waving her hand to Nino.
“Why are you guys together?” Rin asked as they approached.
“We just met down the hall. He said he was looking for his wife.” Jin replied.
“Oh?” Rin said turning to Nino. “Are you done with shooting already?”
“Halfway there. We took a break. I thought about having dinner with my wife. By the way, he said he was also looking for his girlfriend. ” Nino replied getting back at Jin. Dita and Jin blushed in synch.
“You better not make my best friend cry or else.” Rin threatened Jin.
“Hey, since when did I make you cry or any girl for that matter?” Jin protested. Everyone just laughed including Dita.
Rin and Nino left after.
“Yeah, you better not.” Dita repeated sternly.
