Queen is Awesome...sven_bjornborgApril 22 2004, 06:50:36 UTC
I must confess that I am alittle envious of your situation. Not to trivialize the complexity of everything going on, but the two paths you face seem clear: the buttoned down pragmatic lifestyle, defined so early on, but undeniable safe; verses the idealistic, un-named in potential, but catastrophically dangerous. Not many of us get such a clearly defined choice, and not very many of us have the talent or circumstances to have a real shot at our dreams. For all of us living vicariously through you, its understandable that these are not easy times, and more hard times may be ahead, but I'm glad to see you're bold enough to decide that giving up on your dream is not a serious option. At this age many of us are starting to accept that we have contracted chronic lacklusterness, but its very encouraging to see your still willing to fight for the miracle cure, and we'll all be very proud when you pull it off.
Nonchalance... (VOL.I)sven_bjornborgApril 24 2004, 11:37:07 UTC
You're right Ron... I guess really I was only speaking for myself when I expressed my eventual resignation toward mediocrity. Honestly, I didn't mean to put anyone down, I was only trying to encourage my good friend... I'm sorry if you don't agree with me, or you think that it will lead to choices that take him away from you... but sometimes, a man's got to do for himself what no one else can do for him...
Hey vinny, shut your piehole before you dig yourself deeper!gulbickusApril 25 2004, 06:02:02 UTC
I in no way disagree with your support of Ian, I am all for Ian being a rock star and for chasing his dreams. But, not all of us aspire to be famous musicians and the such. Some of us would just like to find a good job, a good woman, and a good home. If that is mediocre, then call me Mr. Mediocrity.
