My favorite thing about last year's is that more people had read A Wrinkle in Time than Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Of course, both these years reveal my weakness for nostalgic children's and young adult books. Worse is that there are certain books that I re-read regularly so I figure next year's will have a few from 2007. Usually it's the Heinlein.

On the Terry Pratchett front, I read Hogfather and have a couple more I need to get to.
I am also the only person in the English speaking world who has never read a single thing by JK Rowling.
