I also support shizuo x vorona. I'm GLAD that SHizuo finally found someone he can love and isn't afraid that she'll get hurt etc. Vorona is strong. It's obviously a good pairing match. The story started with Shizuo having problems falling in love because he's afraid to hurt them. Mentioned in the novel with Tom even asking him about girlfriends. I think the story won't be complete without shizuo having found a match~ but that's my thought.

And lol~ it's mostly Mego who's throwing a tantrum on my tumblr about it XD

i really hope that ending in book 12 is a rumor... sob.... but i dunno. we just translated 2chan that's all. Until someone confirms it...

Ah, I’m not gonna get into any shipping debates, but I’m a bit surprised from a purely marketing point-of-view that there'd be any ‘official’ pairing at all. When they pander so actively to fangirls (and use that to sell merchandise by the ton), I can kinda see why people might be annoyed.

And that kind of pat, 'all loose ends tied up and romantic relationships fix everything!' approach is a total anathema to me both as a writer and as a fan (not just of this series, anything). I mean, what's left to wonder about/continue to engage with if everything's finished off neatly with a pretty bow? *laughs* So if that's where it's going, the rest of the novels are probably not for me. I know a lot of people dislike ambiguous endings, but for me it pretty much guarantees I'm staying interested in the source material a lot longer than I would have otherwise.

My fics will henceforth come with the caveat of "sorta-canon up 'til Volume Whatever, after that we're just makin' stuff up." *nods* ;)

The books and cast work beautifully as a fantasy/action/suspense series. But shoehorning in couples just to do it, means the guy knows how to write romance too?

Sorry, he can be notorious for it all he wants, but it doesnt mean its a good move.

It makes all the pandering they make off ShizuIza sort of a mockery of the fans. The thrill is not knowing if they are or arent, ya know? Insisting on ending your series with set in stone couples instead of keeping it an open adventure is....yeah its just not for me. Im all down for het and slashy tension, but not when its supposed to represent the end of a series that really, is not about romance.

Thanks for this! Though I think it says that Izaya feels irritated by the fact that Shizuo tamed Vorona rather than the other way around.

Oh, don't be. It has nothing to do with either. I didn't notice the mistake the first time I read these - but afterwards I guess the original translation began to feel slightly out of character to me. As for the ship wars - I'm sure there are a lot of those going on but I couldn't care less as long as they don't bring it over to my journal. :)
