So I ran across this 30 day TV meme on countessmary's blog and it looked like fun, so I decided to challenge myself to complete it during the month of November. Unfortunately, in some of the categories it was just too hard to pick a single answer, so I've chosen my top 3 or 5 or even 10. Anyway, here goes!
Day 01 - A show that never should have been cancelled
3. Veronica Mars
Even though Season 3 of Veronica Mars was kind of disappointing, Seasons 1 and 2 were amazing. It was a smart, fun, and hip show, and I'll never understand why more people weren't glued to their TV sets watching it. Even the problems with Season 3 seemed to be mainly caused by the looming threat of cancellation, making it impossible to develop the mystery arcs in a way that would do them justice. I miss you, Veronica!
2. Pushing Daisies
For the short time it was on the air, this show was my weekly happy fix. It was pure magic week after week, and I spent most of each episode grinning like a loon when I wasn't laughing outright. Its cancellation was doubly disappointing when you consider that it was actually doing quite well in its first (aborted) season. Darn writers' strike, and darn ABC for not promoting this show as much for Season 2 as it did for Season 1.
1. Firefly
Ah, Firefly, we hardly knew ya. The epitome of shows that never should have been cancelled, in its half season, Firefly truly showed the genius that is Joss Whedon. Darn you, FOX, for taking our show away from us.
