A little behind on some of the stuff that has been going on... I'll see if I can catch up on all of it now. :p

As far as ranger gear goes, I'm stumped on how you got +58 STR. Best I had figured out previously was about +52... Mind elaborating?

I'm glad to see Ruke is till playing, but I wish he was playing RNG more, he was my RNG hero. Was it the nerf, lost the love for RNG, or just moving on? Ruke you are the RNG king.

I'm actually clueless now that I think of it, lol...

In the middle of the run I switched to STR gear for EES (since it almost always lands) and checked my stats and thought "whoa, that's a lot more +STR than I thought I could get." Thinking back, I may have had etude or something... Because when I look at the equipment I had available+the food the max is something like +50 or so, and +8 from one etude would make it the 58 we see.

So yeah, my mistake lol... I didn't even realize that until you said something. It must've have been really 50 with an etude I didn't know about.

Good research ;3....one more thing I like to say is that I HATE YOU><

That bright-handed KUNTberry made me camp him for 6 days, I think. The pop time was during the AMs....I had to wake up everyday at 1am-5am to kill that fucker=_=.

i pretty much dropped my ranger all together when the nerf happend, but i have been having second thoughts lately, esp since a kb fight lately. its kind of fun, but depressing(?) at the same time, knowing that before the patch you would be tearing the shit out of it without any effort, its still alot of fun but the satisfaction isnt fully there, now im not pimp rng or anything, its only a backup job for fights when my drk would not keep up to par. but after looking at your posts it sort of makes me want to re gear my rng as best as possible, or atleast re-gear it so it doesnt completely blow.

THXU FOR THE INSPERATION^ _^ <3

Can anyone tell me what 'the RNG nerf' was? I was one of those bums that leveled it for a 2nd job because it beat the shit out my Monk standing around boosting for 3 minutes then firing a chi blast. I remember reading about it something like you have to be in some sweet spot to fire...er?

It made RNG kind of strategic, and really overall I find it to be more of a pain in the ass than anything =(.... It's not nerely as fun as it used to be, not just because of the damage/accuracy decrease, but it's just a pain to always have to adjust positioning. Not to mention, RNG can't start skillchains effectively now... The RNG+THF combination is much more difficult to pull off ( ... )

I'm beginning to understand how the nerf affected ranged damage: I never played with different gear setups much on samurai while leveling it, but melee damage is certainly very dependent on attack, whereas ranged wasn't to nearly the same extent. One of the things ranger is suffering from now is a lack of +r.att gear. Melee jobs have Haubergeon/Byrnie/Adaman Hauberk (+10-20 attack), attack earrings (another +12 attack), thick gear or o.kotes (+12-20 attack), bomb core (+12 attack), and better weapon skill levels (269 cap compared to 276) give melee an advantage in attack; ranger can use Vulcan's Staff (+10 ranged attack), E.bow (+23 r.att), and AFv2 feet (+10 r.att). This gives the melee an advantage of +25-35 attack (ignoring jse body and af hat in exchange for +str and acc that melee jobs still get with thick gear and body piece). Seeing how much E.bow outdamages other bows with comparable damage ratings, I think that 25-35 attack would be pretty significant in terms of damage (I believe it's the equivalent of a Minuet III). The JSE ( ... )

It seems far better to get as much STR as possible since the nerf, foregoing AGI and R.Attack wherever possible(With the exception of Seiryu's Kote/Crimson Gauntlets). STR raises the damage cap, R.Attack raises the average damage that you achieve within that cap. Even as a poor RNG I can get +20-25 STR without sacrificing too much R.Accuracy.

Honestly I think I want to level MNK the most, but I'm picky now about leveling with the best equipment I can^^;... With SAM I'd only have to buy a few pieces, DRK would be practically free, but MNK on the other hand would be pretty expensive considering I'd want to get Brown Belt and Cross-Counters ;;...

I haven't decided for sure yet still, finishing WAR and stuff first... But I remember reading your guide before, and it was really well done. I'll definately use it if I do level MNK. :D
