This post has more to do with the specific details, pictures, and experiences with each individual form. I'm being lazy and not formatting the pictures all nicenice though! Special effects are also off for most of them.

Probably will end up the more interesting of the two updates too.

What do you think the 8 meant from the GM? Did another GM not know how many lamps popped each time? Did they want to know how long you had been fighting? How long they had been watching?

We were fighting for much longer than 8 hours by that point, but hard to tell. He didn't say anything after.

Holy freckin shit... I don't know anything about this fight and aren't interested in the details (maybe someday :p) but those pictures look freckin epic! must of been a verrrrrry cool fight

It actually was very cool/fun for a good portion of it! Until it crossed the line into 'wtfbullshit' land and just got annoying/ridiculous.

I bow to you guys for been able to do this straight for 18hrs.

To sum it up, the game dev team for FFXI either sucks in their job or basically do not know how to define the word 'difficulty'. Basically I've not seen a boss in any MMO that will requires more than like 3-4hrs. Maybe to them the word 'difficulty' is a 24hr fight, hoping someone will collapse and die from it in RL. I guess you guys/gals need a long break after this.
