It might not be as long as I thought it would be. My finger doesnt hurt as much if I bandage it right....so we'll see how that goes. Just wanted to let people know since I've kinda been dead the past two nights.

I do have two questions for the f-list.

1) Is a Wii worth buying?

2) Do you have any summer reading suggestions? Books people, I need 'em!! ( Read more... )

I really enjoy Wii Sports, but I'm not sure I'd go and buy the whole system for it. Luckily I have a brother who went and bought it and I just steal it from time to time.

What kind of 'real' books do you like? Fiction? Non-fiction? Mystery?

Fiction for sure. Really anything. School's brought me up to love the classics (Homer, Vergil, James Joyce, Machiavelli....the list goes on) so classical stuff, but I would totally go for new stuff too (did I mention I'm a science fiction fan too?? Ender's Game = love.)

Let's see. It's very strange that I'm in freaking library school and I haven't read much fiction in the last year. It's so sad ( ... )

1) I have really really enjoyed Twilight Princess and Rayman, Raving Rabbids for the Wii. The virtual console is also nice (I've downloaded 3 games for it so far), as is some of the extras like the Weather and Mii channels. Plus, the Wii is small, so it travels easily, can play old Gamecube games, and you can store files internally as well as on SD cards and old gamecube memory cards. I'd say that, for the price, it's a pretty nice system....it's just that there's not much out for it yet.

2) I found the His Dark Materials trilogy really depressing...well-written, but depressing. So, just a warning. As for sci-fi suggestions:

The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin
Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein
The Martian Chronicles, The Sound of Thunder (and other stories) and Dandelion Wine [and really anything else] by Ray Bradbury
The Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn
On Basilisk Station [or other books by] David Weber ( ... )
