Thank you for taking the time to explain all this! It was really easy to understand even for people (like me) who have zero background.

There has been bad media reporting all around this time, not just for the nuclear power plants. Thanks for your knowledge with us =)

No problem!

I don't really mind the entry being spread outside of LJ - I'm also updating a copy of this on my FB. That being said, the links at the bottom of the entry are to some fairly credible sources who's word is much more valid than mine. Some friends of mine from MIT are involved with updating their website (http://mitnse.com/), which has really good explanations of the events.
