I want to pull just the audio from a movie (DVD) onto my iPod. What are my options for performing said feat?

do you have a Mac or a Windows PC?

there are options both ways, but I can give better assistance with the former than the latter... not that I can remember what I did when I recently achieved the same feat -- but I am sure I can find it again.

I have a Windows PC. I will poke around for freeware tools to attempt this, but if you have any specific recommendations let me know. Thanks!

I found...

Shareware, not freeware, but looks like the most often recommended -- DVD Audio Extractor
And this site appears to have the most complete list of Windows tools for the job.

For the PC, i use either DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper. Both have the ability
to de-multiplex any of the video, audio, or other streams from the VOB files
of the DVD. They're also good for just copying everything, for later processing by DVDShrink to copy them onto a single-layer DVD-R.

All of these are freeware tools; Google for them.

Oh, there's a good chance that the audio from your DVD wont be in a format your ipod can use directly; most DVD's use AC3 as their audio codec.

Whatever audio format you have, googling for "convert
