So I've been struggling for the last few days to write one decent college essay. I can't. I've seriously written four different essays; one is good but too long and I can't cut anymore from it, two are okay but not on good subjects, and the last one positively sucks. GAH! That's my problem, as well. All I have elft to do are the college essays. Those are the only reasons why my applications are not in yet. It's not like I have some profound experience to share with the world to enlighten it. I mean, for the love of crap, this shit is hard! ("I felt that shit in my heart, yo." haha) -V.

Yeah, these are the only things stopping my applications right now. I feel like I have to come up with something intelligent sounding, which rules out a lot. They say not to write what you think they want to hear, but I have to think of how I'll look if I send in an essay about my sock collection or about how crazy my family is, which are just about the only things I can even cover in 500 words while retaining my own style of writing. I have to cut down everything else until it is no longer my essay, but the hollow remains of some generic, shit essay. Grrrr.

What I did was write diligently off-topic but with plenty of sarcastic asides for whatever the word limit was and then just abruptly cut it off. To be fair, I only applied to UF, but it seemed to work for them, so that's that. My $0.02.

But you're Devin and can get away with that. I don't have that kind of flair, or what ever you call it. I worry too much about these things.

Thanks for the advice though... maybe I should stop being so worried about it.
