I know exactly how you feel. Doesn't it almost feel like things would be easier if it was like in Futurama, where they check your skill set and then assign you a career for life? I wish you the best of luck in finding and doing what you want to do :)
I promise you that everyone feels like this. For some it may be earlier or later in life/college. But trust me, I had a similar break down. And after you figure something out, you'll be moving along and suddenly you'll go through this again.
You will get through it. I don't actually know you, so I hope that this helps some. Know that it's ok to have "just a day job" while you figure things out. If you're not certain that law school is for you, take time off. (Or even if you do, take time off.) Work for a year or two. Rule it out now before spending money for a career that you may discover you don't like and feel obligated to continue it.
I'm not trying to discourage you. I just want you to know that it's ok to feel the way you're feeling. Something that may or may not help is, What Should I Do With My Life? by Po Bronson. It may not give an answer to your doubts, but it will show you that you'll figure it out. And it will reassure you that you don't need to know what to do right now

listen beni, we all feel the same way at some point. but if you keep on this track of just questioning, and hesitating to "grow up" (lol, whatever that means, right?! we never grow up, don't worry, it just sorta happens by itself, you'll see) then you will never end up doing SOMETHING worthwhile. you'll just keep asking questions
( ... )
Wise words, Leslie. Seriously. The only thing I would disagree with is always jumping into something whole hog...Most of the time, your advice is dead on. But if there are lingering doubts about something as resource-intensive as law/med school (or a new car, or a house, or anything major really), one should definitely make further questions/introspection before deciding to commit the resources to it.

i really appreciate that you read this and took the time to reply such a thought out response.
i might check that book out.
i am feeling better. i mean, questions are all still there, but i'm not panicky at the moment. and ive talked it all through with some good people.
i'll just keep going and stop torturing myself with questions i cant answer.
and a year or so off between undergrad and law school is DEFINITELY in order :)
thank you...
