Look on the bright side: there's a good chance these bands would have eventually stagnated on their own even if they hadn't decided to move towards mainstream suck!

Yeah, but The Sword redoes Sabbath for a living now. Where does that leave us?

well i don't know what boat you're in, but that leaves me rocking out to the sword when i can't find my monster magnet or fireball ministry albums. just remember-a third rate black sabbath is still better than a first rate dragonforce.

I'd take a 7th rate Sabbath over a 1st rate Dragonforce, in all honesty.
It just disappoints me when bands who actually manage to break out of the shittiness surrounding them eventually become so eager to dive back and roll around in it once more.

Did Monster Magnet just put out a new album?
