Well said. Actually, it scares me that more people don't seem to be taking this approach. After the election results I was browsing through facebook statuses. Two struck me: Yours, and a foreign student from my year. Rachael Holden even commented about yours to me, and how it was probably the best one she saw of all her friends. This other one I mentioned sums up my biggest problem with peoples' reactions: "Smriti is looking forward to peace everywhere! :)"
I am proud of our nation for electing Obama. I am hopeful that he can do a good job. That said, he is no hero. He will not snap his fingers and make everything all better. He has the potential to do great things, but not alone, and not easily. He may be our next president, but he is still just a man! Anyone who thinks differently is sorely ignorant and in for a rude awakening in the upcoming months.
