I remember the weaning talk. It goes something like this: "Your baby is only 4 months old. Don't feed her solids yet. Wait till she's 6 months. The end." and they give you some 'recipes' telling you how to puree fruit. It's all a tad pointless really, but I guess some people don't realise that they're supposed to wait.
LOL! Sounds like our NHS antenatal classes: Midwife: Now ladies, when it's time just come in to hospital and we will do the rest. (Shows video with women laughing about their birth experiences) Man falls over in corner of room and whacks his head on the radiator. This is clearly much more interesting than the birth information so a large crowd gathers. People ask questions. Midwife doesn't really answer them while confusing everyone into thinking that she has.
This really happened. We didn't bother going to the babycare ones...
The weening talk was boring and very uninformative. Weaning is pretty easy just keep relaxed and don't worry if he doesn't like food, they are only getting tastes at 6 months. Start with pureed veg, get a very small blender and just use the veg you are having yourself just don't add salt to the water. Though you do need to check what foods to delay as they seem to change daily.
The massaging info is really silly. (Massaging the breast is a good way to get a tiny newborn who is sleepy to drink more, but after that all it will do is give you an overactive letdown/ over supply!)
