I'm glad you wrote him. I hope they manage to keep the parks open. I probably will never live in IL again but it would be awful to lose them. Didn't we meet at a summer camp that dragged us out to Kickapoo all the time?
I like Mike!kkampmomSeptember 13 2008, 06:58:55 UTC
Mike is a great guy! I am political action chair for my local Illinois Education Association union and as such I get to vote a lot of votes for who we will endorse during political campaigns. The now senator spoke with our regional IEA group as did his opponent. I voted all our votes for Mike, even though he lost the endorsement by one vote (because his opponent had voted very pro-education in the past when she was in government, even though she had been out for a while. He had no track record as of yet, although he had great ideas which I am happy to say he has been following through on, even without our endorsement. He does have it now.) He is from a farming family, and is very big on environmental and educational issues. I am very glad I voted for him both with my political pull in the union and my vote as a citizen, and very glad he got elected! I think he will go far in the public sector.
