Watching You, Watching Me, Chapter 7 - Slow Spinning Redemption

It was time.

With Absolem’s assistance Alice would travel through her mirror today and return to Underland once more. It had taken time to persuade the looking glass to open enough to allow her to pass through and both she and the butterfly had spent weeks coddling, sweet-talking and all but threatening the mirror. During that time Alice had ( Read more... )

Hot!

And a lovely happy ending.

I'm glad you joined the big bang and turned this into a chapter fic. It was worth the wait.

I very nearly split this one into two chapters after I realized how long it was getting with the final scene. :)

I'm a sucker for happy endings. True, I love ones full of angst and heartbreak too but I figure if I'm writing it I can give them a happy one, right?

I'm so glad that everyone encouraged me to turn this puppy into a chaptered fic and that you offered up the Big Bang. It was the perfect bit of inspiration to write a full fic. :)

Thanks for all the compliments!

Yes, I'm a happy ending sucker, myself! No matter the angst or sorrow, I'll have a happy ending.

I'm glad you made this into so much more than the first story/chapter and joined us here. It was worth the months of waiting!

Brilliantly done, and thank you. I loved all of it, especially Alice's newfound courage and confidence. Very, very nice,

Thank you so much! I'm so glad to have been encourage to make this into a longer story. I had a lot of fun writing it (even though one chapter gave me fits!)

And I'm glad you liked the happy ending. *happy sigh* Sometimes you just gotta have them. :)

Did I miss the artwork? I can't find it. I even clicked on the artist's name, and got a blank-looking journal. Can someone help me out? Thanks!

You didn't miss it. The artist has yet to hand it over. *sadface* If I ever end up with it I'll post it up.

Oh, that's okay! *hug* You aren't the only one whose artist fell behind. They are trying their best and want to give their best.

I just can't tell you, tho, how MUCH I LOVE this entire story. I was hooked from the start and as it unfolded, I feared for Tarrant as much as for Alice, but I'm so glad it worked out! *whew!*

And even tho Stayne is still pretty much Stayne, he has grown and proven that he can indeed become a better man in time.

You really took this and wound in the elements for a romantic, dream-like, surreal, erotic, tense, highly-charged, romance with mystery. This was SO worth the wait!

So, over two months after all of this I was hit with some inspiration and decided that I would make my own art for this story.

Well, that was part of it. The other part was that I had no idea what photograph I wanted to enter into the art show in March and was trying to keep from falling asleep while driving and ended up thinking about this story and your comment about artists falling through.

So, I'm going to create a piece of art for it myself. I've got it all set in my mind, I've bought the canvas (24" x 30"!!) and am going to pick up some of the final supplies tonight. When it's done I'll definitely take photos (provided it turns out right). It won't be a drawing or painting but something that hopefully will fit with the idea of the story.

But yeah, it was partly me remembering your comment (and all the kinds words you and everyone) that sparked this crazy artistic idea. :)

Ah... so I finally read this lovely piece of yours and I have to say that (when I first found out this would be Stayne/Alice) I was Apprehensive. But I adore how you used Stayne's presence to advance Alice's character and didn't overcomplicate the story. This is simply and beautifully a journey for Alice and Tarrant (but mostly Alice) and we see how her newly-found Muchness is tested on a battlefield where she is not armed with the necessary memories she would need to defend herself and Tarrant ( ... )

Wow. I'm so glad you liked it. And that's an understatement.

I'm so happy to know that even though you don't enjoy Alice/Stayne that you appreciated that particular bit as adding to Alice's journey of self.

I was always a little worried to see what people would think of how I wrote Alice's "loss of innocence" how she deals with it (she's not sorry for how it happened) and how Tarrant deals with it (angry at it being Stayne but still wanting Alice perhaps even more). It's a relief to know that it worked out well.

Totally happy you enjoyed the story. *grin*

Thank you so much for the awesome comments! It makes me all warm and fuzzy!
