My Cousin's wedding

Dec 19, 2006 02:18

I was at my cousin's wedding on friday.
It was... well, exhausting - as these traditional family parties always are.

We had to get up at 7am to get to Cologne in time and pick up my parents. Then we rushed to the village where the wedding took place - but the traffic was too jammy, so we ...haha, missed the actual wedding. I think my cousin was a bit pissed, and my aunt maybe a bit more. But they didn't care too much; too much to do, too many other guest.

Too bad the castel where they got married did not have a toilet...even more: they were just repairing the spouts and had opened the cesspit. A nice smell drifted over the wedding people when the wind changed. Uhum.
Since there were no toilets and some old ladies needed to wash their hands we had to leave rather quickly.

My father was really convinced there would be coffee and cake somewhen but he was wrong. We had to be starving until buffet. Did we? We rushed to the next village into the church. My cousin is divorced so no big wedding, just some amen here amen there. Friends of the couple were opera singers, I was looking forward, but in the end I didn't like their singing - too strange.

Now, we were really hungry but still had 3 hours to go. To kill some time we decided to visit Heerlen. There we found some coffee and cake which was SO sweet that I could hardly eat up. In fact, I did not. It was rather funny there to sit with my parents, chat a bit and fool around.

I'll shorten this:
- 18h, Vaals, Kasteel Vaalsbroek, 20 mins till room would open up for Buffet.
- Buffet was YUUUUUUUUMY and we did not hesitate to be the first ones to queue up (which made us not have to queue up ^^ )
- at 9pm we left. Without saying a word to anybody. We just sneaked away and giggled about it.
- My cousin seemed very exhausted. No wedding for me please.
- We reached Cologne by 10pm, then we took a very little nap.
- 23:30 off to Trier.
And after AMAZING 1,5 hours we reached our home.

since we sneaked out..
no weeding cake for us,
just this picture:
