whatever happened to bunty?

I just spent about half an hour updating the Bunty page on Wikipedia. It only had an introductory bit and a rather scathing blurb about Luv, Lisa. I mean, I got the damn thing every week from when I was 9 til I was 16, I should know enough about it XD I remember hiding behind the curtain when the paper-boy delivered it so he couldn't see I was far ( Read more... )

Let's be honest here, you probably checked before you asked. Alas, there isn't any, more's the pity ;)

:o YOU checked as well!!

XD

Actually I checked after, and was rather disappointed. Oh well. I also felt a bit aggrieved that comics like Bunty don't exist any more, because I suddenly realised that what I'd want to do more than anything would to be to draw the comic strips. I mean, there were some awesome stories they thought up. Not all ponies and ballet and ripping good yarns about boarding schools, as some might think :'(

Not for Bunty! You couldn't just have a story about a girl getting a pony - that's rubbish. In Bunty, the pony would be magical, or hyperintelligent, or no-one could see it but the girl, or it would save the day by leading her to an injured cyclist, or it would be able to talk but she would have to hide it so it didn't get taken away. And ballet? Pfft. There wouldn't just be a story about a girl who liked ballet. She'd be dancing for a scholarship that would save her beloved but run-down school, or she'd be forbidden from dancing by her stern grandmother who seemed like a witch but in reality she was just terribly scared that the girl would have a fatal ballet accident like her mother... or she'd be dancing to stop ALIENS invading omg ( ... )

XD It's a girls' cominc that ran from 1958 to 2000... hang on, why am I typing it all out? Read my wiki!

Also, I must work 'Bonaparte's brass bouncing balls' into everyday conversation somehow.
