Just got to the bit in Oblivion where you meet Sean Bean's character. I wasn't expecting it and I didn't know who he was voicing, so when I speak to this guy and out pops Sean's heart-stoppingly gravelly voice, I actually froze up and made a sort of gurgly "hnnggghh..." noise in the back of my throat. Oh noes, that all-important first impression ( Read more... )

Yeah. Martin. I lol'd at that too. What kind of pansy-ass name is that. It'd be far more logical to have Martin be voiced by Keane-musician. :P

Hehe XD

I don't know... they could at least have made it sound a bit more Tamriellic. I've never heard them use modern names for any characters, nor even minor NPCs that they probably got sick of naming after a while. So why on earth give one, and such a mundane-sounding one, to the main character? Boo, Bethesda.

It's good for a laugh, at least. And I am enjoying the game, so I suppose that's all that counts ^_^

"What ho, Jauffre! Shalt thou join myself and prior Marabel on a holy quest to expunge the evils in Cyrodiil? Shall we, in righteous fury, carve a swathe through evil where'er it may rear its foul visage?"

"No way man, I'm going to hit the bars and score some chicks with Martin!"

Ahahaha.

I've started calling him 'Marty McFly' in my head >:D

Also, Jauffre!? What the fuck were these people on in the naming committee!? it's making me use way too many exclamation and question marks in conjunction with eachother!

Ah, sorry, but I'm missing out on thi whole "Martin is a pansy-ass name"; I'm reading Chronicles of Amber, and Martin happens to be bundle of punk-rock ass-kicking in *that*. But I suppose I can see where you're coming from :/

Still haven't bought a pc powerful enough to play Oblivion yet, however. Ah, next student loan, please!

Also, 'twas my 23rd on Tuesday, and I'm attempting to plan some sort of sojourn to the Art of Siam on this Friday. Tom is up for it, I think it'll end up being a group of five or six, maybe more. Anyway, it'd be lovely to have you there, let me know if you can make it and what-not.

aaaah...I've got Johny be Good in my head now...need to watch more Back to the future!

Thank you! How did you come by my journal? Are you another Elder Scrolls/Oblivion fan? You don't have any interests listed, so I'm stumped...

No worries; I had to cancel due to a combination of work and illness, anyway. If you mail me your phone number or something I'll let you know when I'm next out with Tom and co, although it looks like Thursday is going to be the annointed day :)
