♥ It's lovely seeing your thoughts about s5! And that it, and s6, came at a point that in a way was so fitting in your life. ♥ Fandom can be such a blessing when one has to face terrible things in RL. *hugs*

I love the detailed account of your reactions to the whole of s5 and all the things you loved :D I fell in love with Eleven right off, too-despite having hated his End of Time tidbit, hahaha! And also felt very engaged right away by the new tone/style of the show. Amy was no favourite of mine for quite a while, tbh, but I'm warming up to her a bit these days. From the way I saw it, she had potential to be wonderfully complex, very strong and very fragile at the same time, rather broken even-I loved her in Eleventh Hour-and I felt like the show went too heavily on bossy, unfair!Amy, instead of exploring that. I would have been fine with both sides being very present, flawed characters and characters who use a façade of strength to hide their vulnerabilities are great (River!!!), but said vulnerabilities were left too much on the ( ... )

Fandom can, indeed, be a wonderful thing in time of stress. I definitely found fandom, and particularly my friends, very helpful across that very difficult time. I have lost contact with some of them but I remember them all very fondly -- and many of the most supportive and helpful came into my life as a direct result of S5, which will always have a place in my heart because of that.

I knew you would be my River-fountain :D Thank you so much. Those were all wonderful. I don't mind shippy, of course, because after Amy/Rory my DW ship is 11/River. But it is nice to see River getting recognition for her own awesomeness as well as her connection to the Doctor. That first vid is <3 ( ... )

♥ That’s great it could help you. Fandom helped a lot to keep me sane in the past, too, lol… Though it wasn’t for the same reasons. =P It’s always bittersweet when you lose touch with people, but indeed, the memories remain.

River-fountain, I love the sound of that! XD Yeah, I got what you meant about the shippiness-the ship is WONDERFUL, but River is smashing in her own right and she isn’t just the Doctor’s wife. And IKR? I loved that it started by some Pond family feels :D ( ... )
