holy crap, i got a new job! and it's, like, an ACTUAL job... none of this picking up other people's shit, working shitty hours for not enough money to support myself, and forcing myself NOT to stab everyone. perhaps something real has actually started to happen with my post-grad life. god, i hope so ( Read more... )

i've worked with photoshop for a few years, just by myself. i actually learned it pretty well too, at least the photo editing aspect of it. and then recently a friend helped me learn "vectors" which is all the crazy shit that graphics (logos, etc....crisp line, some 3d stuff) are made out of, and a whole bunch of other shit. well it's funny, because i guess he noticed that i have a knack for it (and i use it every damn day anyways, just learning shit to learn it). he works at a web design/hosting/lots of other crap firm, and they just lost a few designers. he told his boss that he had a friend who knew how to use the program, and they were interested. i didn't know any of this actually, and had never asked him to consider me for it, because, frankly, i figured i was under qualified. but i did up some samples, and they looked them over and there was some positive feedback. called me in for an interview, and to create a timed test site banner. and it turned out really well. and... tadar.

Woah, everyone's getting married this summer! Well at least you'll be at one of the, like, 5 I have to go to! I'm so excited!!!! Miss you girl, but see you sooner then I would have expected otherwise. We can both poop in Dennis's mouth for his wedding present!
