Thought on the new Viewfinder chapter

Finally finished geeking out over the new Viewfinder chapter.Thought I’d put my thoughts into words now.

This chapter was different, maybe in more ways than I can realize now. I confess that I was disappointed that Akihito hadn’t gotten away for longer. I mean, yes it did say 3 days but we weren’t shown the three days, right? And I still think its a bit odd that Asami waited for 3 DAYS before he decided to start worrying….but then again this isAsamiwe’re talking about. I sort of get that part of him, that part which is so secure and so arrogant and above everyone else, that bit which wouldn’t dream of Akihito trying to permanently walk out on him. That was the different thing about Asami, he was secure about his place in Takaba’s heart. Sure he went around being overtly possessive but he was neverjealous. It was arrogant of him, but that was him.

But this chapter….this chapter sort of messed with that nature of his, which is why I think his composure was ruffled. I love Sensei for this, she has such an amazing talent for Asami’s expressions. I mean, there’s Takaba who’s every emotion stands out on his face, be it anger, hate, love whatever and that’s the lovable part of him really. I’m more of an uke girl, yes but I always feel ukes fall on two extreme spectrums- either saccharine sweet (witness Ayase of Okane Ga Nai) or pumping testosterone (Riki from Ai No Kusabi). Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind either type( Riki is one of my favorites actually, after Akihito) but Akihito sort of hits all the right notes….at least for me. He’s in a world he doesn’t understand but he’s not going to let it bulldoze him. He’s going to stand up to it. He’s going to be brave. And that’s what I love the most about him, how utterlybravehe is, how much it must take to be surrounded by guns and people who are prepared to hurt you and look down on you and to just take all that and throw it right back at them in whatever way you can. No wonder Asami is smitten.

I sort of get the feeling that Takaba represses his feelings more than Asami does. I’m not sure if Asami  represses his feelings at all, in fact; he may not speak them aloud, that’s all. I get the feeling that Takaba never really thought about having such kinds of feeling before. And then with Asami he has to confront them and he can’t actually make up his mind as to what they are. So he’s settling for thinking of them in whatever manner he can, trying to skirt around the issue that he may love Asami.I bet just the thought makes his head spin. :P

But both of them were totally shaken up in this chapter; Asami, because for the first time he had touch upon the lingering doubt that Aki might not be all his and Akihito because he had made a choice and then suddenly he forced back into his old path. I feel sorta bad for him, it doesn’t matter which path he takes, it’ll always seem like he’s running away from something (be it his career, Asami or his position in Asami’s world). He’s the one who’ll probably have to make the most compromises of the two, which sucks really. (I wonder if he’ll give up criminal photography together. I mean, his passion seems to be more of the photography itself rather than the hunting down bad guys bit which seems like he does for the thrills. Living with Asami should be thrill enough. :P)

I LOVE how Asami said that Akihito wasn’t permitted to turn his eyes from him. That was the closest to a declaration of love from him ever. He doesn’t give a damn what Akihito does as long as it Akihito was still his. An arrogant statement from an arrogant man.

Also, he NEEDS to kick Sudoh’s ass. I mean it. That guy just pisses me off. And Akihito won’t spill the beans on him,I know it because that’s how he rolls (and if he did, how’s the story progress :P). Though I still don’t know how exactly Asami is going to react though, I mean this is one of his own. A REALLY stupid ‘one of his own’ and one I’m REALLY REALLY suspicious about, but the rules don’t apply here. Or do they? I don’t know, getting into this man’s mind is HARD.

Maybe that spectacles guy from the first PIA chapter will be making a comeback. Kuroda, his name was, I think. Maybe its going to be a game of ‘pair the spares’ :P (Though that leaves out Sagaki. I sort of like that guy. I dunno why really, except that his glasses are hot and he’s smarter than he lets on, judging by his comments to Sudoh.)

Wow. That’s a lot. I guess I’ve written enough for now. Sorry for going on like this people (if anyone id reading :D). If anyone has any thoughts, please share I’d love to have a discussion!

Also on Tumblr. Sorry for those who are seeing it twice (though its unlikey there are any. :P)
