It was a pretty typical first date, as first dates go. He met Clara at her subway stop, took her to dinner at Mara's Homemade. Dinner and a movie tended to be too long for a first date, so instead they went for a walk, meandering down the sidewalk and talking about nothing in particular.
It was so ordinary that Aaron was amazed by how extraordinary it felt. Clara just... fit, like she'd always been there, like they'd lived their whole lives in invisible company with each other.
He glanced down, and was not surprised to see their hands entwined.
