Summary: Helena is mildly obsessed with Rip's hair.
Notes: Helena and Rip are so much fun.
“That’s not a special effect,” she persists, leaning against the door frame. “That’s just you combing your hair back with lots and lots of yucky hair gel.”
Ripley ignores her, looking at himself in the mirror as he combs his hair back with the same precision as he always does.
“You know, you wouldn’t look all that bad if you stopped doing that and shaved your horrible sideburns off,” she continues.
“Not going to happen,” Ripley chants happily, a grin on his face. She’s been at this every morning since her apartment blew up and he knows the whole routine by heart but it doesn’t cease to amuse him how much energy she puts into him.
“Well, it should. You know, I’m just trying to help you by telling you all of this.”
Ripley looks in the mirror, running a finger over his sideburn on one side and tries to look thoughtful. “You know, maybe you’re right.”
He silently cheers as she does so loudly, almost jumping away, leaving him to do the shaving in quiet.
Ripley just grins, preparing for the fun he will have later today when she finds out he was bluffing. She’s so obsessed with his sideburns that she’ll be upset about this all day long.
That’s the real special effect.
