"This is Summer," Lars says, his voice full of hopeful pride, as he bends down to the girl. "Summer, this is my girlfriend Madison."
She's been expecting a kid, five or six maybe, and got ready to act motherly. She has no idea what to do with a leggy teenager, with downturned eyes and some kind of model.
Lars sees Madison looking and asks, "What's that, Summerchild?"
"It's a helicoid," she says, shyly. "But you can turn it into a catenoid."
Which is gibberish to Madison, but Lars is cooing like she's done something clever.
This kid is so weird.
