Summary: Stella doesn’t always appreciate the banter.
Notes: Probably haven’t posted a lot with Stella here. Trying to finish up Pomegranate so I can pick up a new flavor and hopefully post bits and pieces of the NaNo at Nath’s request (also because these three prompts have been sitting here too long).
“Guys?”
“Yeah, Stell?”
“Yes, Stella?” I asked at the same time.
“Shut up already.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Jay promptly rolled over and pretended to snore loudly. Then he yelped as David kicked him hard in the shin. “Ow! Stella, call your demon brother off!”
“David?”
“Yes, Stella?” Dave said, mimicking us and sounding anything but apologetic.
“If he doesn’t shut up, kick him harder next time, okay?”
Blissful silence descended on the cell.
“Can I kick him anyway?”
“No, David,” she said, a warning note to her voice.
“Aw, darn,” the ten-year-old whined, sighing.
I snickered as Jay grumbled in protest.
