Title: Fire in the Hallway
Summary: Murien wants her necklace back, and she’s going to get it back, dammit.
Notes: I’m sick, so just this thing for now. Might be Chopped Nuts? IDK. Follows
A Different Kind of Magic.Of course Murien would find Rys in a hallway full of people. She had hunted her roommate down with the intensity of a puma stalking a rabbit, but no amount of concentration could make the other students give a clear shot. No, they fluttered around a giggling Rys like living armor, oohing over- Murien’s necklace! Dammit! She’d have to yank it off Rys herself.
“Isn’t it love-ly? Oh, Murien dear! Thank you for the necklace! So very gen-”
Murien wound up for the takedown.
“-er-ous of… Hey!”
Students went flying as Murien launched herself Rys, grabbing her by the shoulders and knocking her down with the momentum of her wild charge. If Murien had thought of it before, she would have paid someone to capture the scene in a record-orb for later viewing, because the glimpse she got of Rys’s face as she went down made it all worth it.
And then she was on top of the other girl, and she had only meant to yank off the sapphire pendant and run, so why was she currently pounding Rys’s smug face in? Blood covered her hands - from Rys’s broken nose? - and the necklace was soaked in it too, but it felt so good to punch Rys that even as the other students screamed, even as shouting reached her ears, she kept doing it. Even when the paralysis spell hit her and the teacher - oh, oh, her favorite teacher, looking so furious and disappointed - dragged Murien’s limp body away from her broken roommate, her muscles twitched with the desire to break, smash, hurt.
What have I done?
