Gwen looked between her sons. Neither could hold the expression of perfect innocence for long - as Gwen’s eyebrows rose, Keith’s facade cracked, then Dylan saw his brother slipping and burst out, “it’s for you!”
If possible, Gwen’s eyebrows would have kept on going to the moon.
“You said you wanted something different for Mother’s Day. Well…” said Keith, slowly realizing Gwen’s expression was not one of awestruck gratitude. Still he continued, her boy. “Is it… bad?”
“What? No! It just… makes me remember things I’d rather not.” Her hands ghosted over twisting metal, a piece of Flight 87.
