Chloe pressed her forehead against the window of her tour bus, mentally wishing that the damn thing would just sprout wings and fly her home. She wished she could have flown, but the record company had complained about something or other, and she hadn’t felt like arguing with them. She was certain that if she did anything other than agree, she would have exploded and very possibly found herself in a bunch of hot water with the higher ups. Chloe knew that she hadn’t been a very pleasant person to be around lately, but she didn’t care. At least most of her crew seemed to understand why.

She missed her home. She missed her family. Most of all, she missed her husband. All of it coagulated together to cause something in her chest to twist and ache, ever since she set foot on this damned tour bus and crossed the New York state line. Concerts and interviews and different cities had been enough to patch the wound for a while. Telephone calls and texting and webcam chats had been even better. But somewhere around Phoenix, everything had changed, and her usual distractions were not near enough. Faith had joked that it was just her sex drive complaining; Chloe had bitten her head off, and the subject wasn’t brought up again.

It really wasn’t that she missed having sex with Kurt (though good God, did she ever). That had its distractions as well - porn, phone sex, even the occasional mutual masturbation with him via webcam - but the fact that she missed everything. Waking up next to him, hearing him sing off-key in the shower, asking him about his job at the end of the day... It was all part of a routine that she highly missed.

Squeezing her eyes shut against tears, Chloe pressed the thumb of her left hand against her ring finger. The wedding ring there seemed to ground her, and she took comfort in how very solid it was. They weren’t that far away from New York City. Just one more night without him, and this tour would be done. She could take a much deserved break and get her fill of him, if she could just make it through the night.
